Karatasi is a flashcard-based learning program designed to facilitate the acquisition of knowledge through a question-and-answer pair format. The application utilizes a spaced repetition algorithm akin to the SM-2 algorithm from SuperMemo, which enhances the efficiency of learning, especially when engaging with extensive card sets.

This program is especially optimized for daily language practice, having demonstrated the capability to handle databases containing approximately 14,000 cards. While currently tested with languages that employ Latin characters, it is anticipated that Karatasi will support various character sets in future iterations.

Users have the flexibility to import and export databases via a Java desktop application or through a web server interface. Additionally, there is a script available for importing existing databases from Palm Pilot devices.

Karatasi is an open-source project released under the GPL license, with its full source code accessible on the project's webpage (https://sourceforge.net/projects/karatasi).

Karatasi je výukový program založený na kartičkách navržený pro usnadnění osvojování znalostí prostřednictvím formátu otázka-odpověď. Aplikace využívá algoritmus vzdáleného opakování podobný SM-2 algoritmu od SuperMemo, což zlepšuje efektivitu učení, zejména při práci s rozsáhlými sadami kartiček.

Tento program je obzvlášť optimalizován pro každodenní procvičování jazyků, přičemž prokázal schopnost zpracovávat databáze obsahující přibližně 14 000 kartiček. Ačkoli je v současnosti testován s jazyky využívajícími latinku, očekává se, že Karatasi podpoří různé znakové sady v budoucích verzích.
